Things to know

  • The Health Museum recommends that you book your trip at least 20 days in advance.
  • A non-refundable deposit is required upon booking.
  • Title I schools will need to provide LEA ID and campus number on the reservation form.
  • The museum requires a ratio of 1 chaperone per every 10 students. Required chaperones will be admitted free of charge (see pricing for additional chaperone).
  • A minimum of 10 admissions is required for a field trip.
  • Add-on labs and classes are facilitated by a museum science educator and subject to educator availability.
  • Labs and classes at The Health Museum align to the state and national standards in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) content.

As companions to your experience at The Journey to End Cancer, these comprehensive Teacher’s Guides for upper Elementary School and Middle School, have been created to complement your classroom instruction and make the most of your school field trip. This Teacher’s Guide contains original, assessable, STEAM-related classroom lesson plans for you to use and share. Included are a field-trip planner, background on the exhibition, lesson plans over a range of subjects, games and activities, information on programming beyond the lesson plans, additional resources and curricula connections.
